Food For The Planet
Leicestershire
In Leicestershire, we're looking at localising procurement in our primary schools, with a view to extending out to other local authority bodies and public institutions. We're also championing regenerative farming, where nature's own systems are used to grow food, enhancing nutrition, soil health, biodiversity and sharing that food locally within schools and other venues. We're also promoting diets rich in whole foods, fruit and vegetables. We're not against meat, but we believe that less and better is the way to go. We live in a beautiful county of almost 85 per cent farmland. Leicestershire feeding Leicestershire, supporting health, the environment and the local economy, is the ultimate goal.
